The Project linked to the creation of "Cinema e Diritti" is very ambitious and articulated.
Taking into consideration the general objectives declared in the paragraph "The Association", we can affirm in a succinct manner that "Cinema e Diritti" is a constant information Project, because it attempts to take to different minor centres –Italian and European– the images and documents which in different parts of the world have been collected by movie directors, documentary makers and hard-working, courageous journalists, who wished to understand and help us understand the path the world has taken. It attempts to do so by carving deeply and leaving a trace behind itself, organizing in each territory a cooperative relation with the local institutions and cultural associations, which could be in charge of preparing the demonstrations (local festivals), backing them up with the availability of works in their own catalogue and their its own experts. This will give stability and visibility to the network and its partners.
The pieces which are part of the "Cinema e Diritti" catalogue have been collected through the collaboration of one of the most prestigious cinema festivals in the world, the Buenos Aires and Santiago del Estero (Argentina) Festival, also known as DERHUMALC (Derechos Humanos América Latina y Caribe, Human Rights Latin America and the Caribbean), which guarantees a conspicuous role for the pieces which will be utilized. "Cinema e Diritti" has its own international network of correspondents who, during the year, search for original testimonies with which to enrich DERHUMALC’s patrimony. The third and last component of the local festivals are the works of movie directors and local artists who, year after year enrich local events, increasing the initiative’s value and motivating the organizers to feed the international network of "Cinema e Diritti".
The final result should be a network of international correspondents (friends, journalists, movie directors, artists, writers, etc.) who continuously feed the catalogue with available pieces (movies, short films, books, documentaries, photography, music, theatre, etc.) and a network of institutions and local associations who, year by year, commit themselves to organizing events to make these works known, thus ensuring their distribution in schools and minor centres, promoting creative production. As the centre of both networks, "Cinema e Diritti" functions as an agency which produces associations and linkage services, guaranteeing information exchange and a constant cultural and creative comparison between partners.
Specific objectives in the medium run for the "Cinema e Diritti" Project are:
In order to be able to carry out the necessary initiatives to accomplish the above-mentioned goals, it is essential to organize an International Secretary’s office which will be based in Naples (Italy) and will coordinate:
The President and Treasurer will have the following functions: new member acquisition, promotion and collaboration with other organizations and associations, public institutions and foundations, as well as tasks as representatives and promoters of the "Cinema e Diritti" image in public and official events, the responsibility for the association’s bulletin and the administration.
"Cinema e Diritti" will have, among other things, fund-raising activities in order to be able to sustain its own project and link itself with public and private organizations and associations at the local, national and international level, in order to create alliances which are able to support initiatives, directing its actions preferably towards developing countries, southern Europe, and the rest of the World.
